JOB TITLE: Office Assistant III
COMPENSATION: Grade 11/Step 1 $15.44 Hourly/$32,115 Annually -
Grade 11/Step 5 $17.07 Hourly/$35,506 Annually


JOB SUMMARY: This position will be responsible for complex secretarial duties requiring the use of independent judgement and mature discretion and confidential maintenance of files, reports and logs. This position should be able to work with minimal supervision and
is under the direct leadership of a division commander.

General Requirements:
• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalency
• Must possess a valid driver’s license with less than 4 points
• Ability to pass a criminal background check
• Safety sensitive position requiring random drug and alcohol testing
• Essential personnel that may need to work in the evenings or weekends for emergencies

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Prepares and files correspondence, reports and other documents
• Operating knowledge of the telephone and communication equipment
• Process all court summonses, within the office and for outside service
• Complete necessary required forms regarding the child support enforcement grant
• Maintain and reconcile sheriff sales
• Ensures confidentiality of information and records and complies with record retention schedule
• Complies with safety programs, procedures, training, fire drills etc. and works safely
• Comply with Worcester County Personnel Rules & Regulations.

Qualifications and Skills:
• High School Diploma and more than 5 years additional years of work-related training and experience required
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
• Possess knowledge of county and agency policies and procedures to respond to inquiries
• Complete mandated training for State Wide Livescan Fingerprinting, Homeland Security Regulations, and Report Management System (RMS)
• Able to be MILES/NCIC certified with recertification every 2 years
• Able to be MILES/NCIC Terminal Agency Coordinator and certify every year
• Maintain entry data on new warrants, validations, and double checks of warrants
• Ability to pass all required training
• Ability to plan, prioritize and organize workload
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions; keep records and logs; complete written forms
• Ability work in a pleasant, professional, and harmonious manner and communicate effectively with the general public and coworkers

Safety Analysis:
Required to work in the office, Sedentary work; Constant sitting, viewing; Frequent talking, hearing; Occasional pushing, pulling, carrying, lifting up to 20 lbs. No known significant hazard risks
