Part-Time, 30 hours, 9:00a – 3:30p, Monday – Friday; Vacation and Sick leave accrual; Paid Holidays; Retirement Plan; No Health Insurance; Hourly wage starting at $24 – $26, salary commensurate with experience.

Under the supervision of the Day Care Director, the Registered Nurse performs a variety of nursing and supervisory duties.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

· Assist elderly and disabled participant’s physical and emotional needs, implementing plans of care, administering medication, keeping accurate and current documentation, and maintaining open communication with physicians and pharmacies.

· Complete written reports, including incident reports, in a timely fashion and adjust staff assignments based on organizational priorities.

· Understand and assist in developing and carrying out management of challenging and/or disruptive verbal and physical behaviors.

· Facilitate monthly Educational Focus Groups with participants.

· Adapt to changing situations in the workplace, demonstrating a good attitude and excellent people skills.

· Supervise nursing assistant staff and provide assistance to and work together with other staff members in a professional manner.

· Manage CQI and all staff trainings.

· Assist with ADLs, including lifting, toileting, mobility assistance and/or transferring of participants.

· Working conditions may require exposure to extreme temperatures, blood borne pathogens, noise, chemicals and stress.

Qualifications and Skills

· Current, unencumbered Maryland license as a Registered Nurse (RN)

· 3 years experience in health care

· Must become certified in CPR and First Aid, and comply with COMAR Requirements

· Become certified as Delegating Nurse

· Physician clearance for work demands, based on state requirements

· TB test

· Reliable transportation and a valid Driver’s License with good driving record

· Background check

Safety Analysis

· Good health and good hearing, visual capability and physical balance

· Lift, push or pull 25 lbs minimum

· Stand and walk 25% of work time; sit and or stand 75%.

· Stoop, kneel, crouch and reach.
