SALARY/GRADE: GRADE 12/STEP 1 – $16.23 HOURLY /$33,758 ANNUALLY –
GRADE 12/STEP 8 – $19.30 HOURLY /$40,144 ANNUALLY

JOB SUMMARY: This individual will be responsible for assisting the Assistant State’s Attorneys with the efficient and effective preparation of cases to be heard in the District and Circuit Courts for Worcester County. This position will be located in Ocean City.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Uses automated office systems to generate a variety of documents, including but not limited to: correspondence, motions, calendars, lists, and tables, through case management software,
word processing and spreadsheet software;
• Answers telephones, provides routine information, takes messages, and forwards calls to appropriate staff;
• Creates and files correspondence and other documents;
• Maintains calendar of events for staff members;
• Uses independent judgement to prioritize responsibilities and meet strict deadlines;
• Ensures confidentiality of documents and use of discretion when handling sensitive and privileged information;
• Prepares and processes public information requests
• Prepares videos for discovery
• Complies with safety programs, procedures, training, fire drills, etc. and works safely
• Complies with Worcester County Personnel Rules & Regulations;
• Performs other related duties as directed.

Qualifications and Skills:
• High School Diploma
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.) Outlook, Internet, Social Media Platforms
• Proficient typing skills (60+wpm)
• Ability to plan, prioritize and organize workload
• Ability to operate general office equipment
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions; keep records and logs; complete written forms; work in a pleasant and harmonious manner and communicate effectively with the general
public and coworkers
• Ability to apply acquired knowledge to increasingly varied and complex tasks
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills necessary to successfully perform job duties;
• Able to communicate effectively and professionally with the general public and coworkers;
• Advanced analytical skills and the ability to prepare reports as required.
• Ability to work effectively with little supervision and minimal direction
• Self-starter that takes initiative and has a sense of urgency

Safety Analysis:
